(Not-So) Hot Lady Track of the Week: Mann and Jason Derülo's "Text"

When there's a song by an artist named Mann, you know there's going to be some gender divide in the lyrics.
And this R&B singer doesn't disappoint, as his single "Text" talks all about how "his female" is freaky deeky when it comes to sending come-hither messages via cell phone.
The song is all about the wonders of text message sex, as well as how cellies are great tools in getting it on quickly--"Hit me wit a text," Jason Derülo sings, "It could go down, hit me, and I'll be around." Ah, hook-up buddies at their finest.
Now there's nothing wrong with having someone who's up for sex whenever on your speed dial as long as both parties consent, but Mann isn't really respectful in the way he describes his partner throughout the tune.
"I still love my chick, though she gettin' mad when other girls be on my (oooh)." Sounds like your go-to girl wants something more, Mann, and maybe you should either break things off with her or commit to being monogamous. Sounds like maybe Mann's hiding his other exploits, and if that's the case, heck yeah, the woman deserves the right to be mad! But, hey, at least Mann still loves her, right?
"I got my own category on her buddy list, and I know that I'm first, and if not, I'm gon' be pissed." So, you expect to be her number one guy, but you're screwing other "chicks" on the side? Great double standard, Mann.
Man, Mann really sounds like a cocky man who should maybe man up and be a man that's deserving of a woman's--not a chick's--attention and not be a man who acts more like a boy.
And why is it the woman is doing all the work in this visually stimulating text message get-down? There is no mention of Mann pulling out his manhood and sending it to the woman--just another example of some men's unrealistic, unequal expectations of sex in relationships, no matter how casual they may be.
Man!
