Chicks Aren't Funny: Gabby Sidibe rocks SNL

Most of Gabby's characters were problematic, and why in the world Will Forte's "Hamilton" character was ever allowed to venture on stage in the first place is beyond me. In case you missed it, here's the best and worst of Gabby's SNL appearance.
Admittedly, it was the first time I'd watched an entire episode of SNL
since junior high, as extended periods of watching sketch comedy tends
to cause me so much second-hand embarrassment I have to look away every
few seconds, so I generally don't look at all. But Gabby Sidibe is so
awesome, and MGMT is one of my favorites, I figured it was worth the
sacrifice of one lone Saturday night.
First, there was Cherry Battle, which I don't understand. I want to think this is funny, but what?
Then, Angry Black Lady: Crazy Lady In The Window.
Then, Angry Black Lady, R.N.
Then, Angry Black Lady: Public Servant.
Then, Black Lady, who should be angry that this Hamilton sketch was so god-awful:
For what is I think her first appearance on live TV, I think Sidibe did a fantastic job. She was a little nervous, and definitely stumbled in a few places, but her personality is so vibrant, she managed it well. Plus, the bumper photos of her were h-o-t. She looked great, and I'm so pleased she was on the show.
