HAAAAAAAAY GIRLS! Guess WHAT! So, like, Starbucks has totally come up with, like, a coffee drink you can TOTALLY DRINK WITHOUT GUILT BECAUSE MODELS DO! ZOMG, thank god I just got this press release from Starbucks, because--and I am not joking--I was just about to have a cup of coffee and I couldn't justify the indulgence! The sheer decadence of consuming a warm cup of bean-caffeine would surely have overtaken my delicate ladymind, and I would have spent hours crying in the corner, clutching my yarf-bag, had I not received this press release. Because I am a lady and I need a good reason to eat something delicious or tasty, lest I get SUPER-FAT.
I love it when PR people send me crap and have clearly read absolutely nothing on this blog, because anyone who thinks I'm going to shill for a diet product (seriously, you don't even have to click back a page to read this post) is ... well, probably a PR person:
I'm writing to you today on behalf of Starbucks. They've recently introduced a brand new flavor to their lineup - Vanilla Frappuccino Light. This rich beverage contains 50% fewer calories and 60% less sugar than their classic Vanilla flavor, making it that much easier to justify the indulgence! She even sent along a video! LATTES AND COFFEE, LADIES! I'm going to go look wistfully out my window and start typing a sentence that begins, "I couldn't help but wonder ... why women feel bad about their bodies."
To celebrate this release, Starbucks set up a lounge in the tents at NY Fashion Week. Each day hundreds of fashionistas, bloggers, editors, celebs and models alike were found relaxing in the Starbucks Lounge.

If I wanted a justification for drinking coffee, the fact that Captain Janeway guzzles it would be enough.
Posted 03/05/2010 at 07:54:52 PMshilling while claiming you wouldn't shill?
ask yourself this question, did starbucks get their message out through your blog or not?
and, did i pee in a horse once, or not?
Posted 03/07/2010 at 01:35:50 PMI don't think it was a bad idea to release a lighter version of their frappucinos. Those puppies range in the 400 - 600 calorie range for a MEDIUM size. It's ridiculous for a drink to pack so many calories while delivering nothing of any nutritional value. I don't see anything to scoff at about a healthier, more reasonable option.
