Valentine's Day, through a GraphJam lens

While clearly the LOLcat is the most superior of all internet memes, there have been many close competitors, not least the explanatory pop culture graph. The most comprehensive compilation of which is most likely GraphJam, brought to you by the I Can Has Cheezburger folks. But instead of being funny, today's Valentine-related graphs are ... sigh. The GraphJam folks headlined these as "The Truth About Valentine's Day." Truth, I guess, if you've never been anywhere on the planet except the seasonal aisle of a Walgreen's.
Created with all the thought and cleverness of the people behind Love Actually 2: RomCom Warmed Over Valentine's Day. I mean, I know it's the internet and all, but really, guys. Chocolate? Expensive restaurant? "Awesome gift?" If you're whining because you followed The Boring, Cliché Date's Guide To Being Boring And Cliché and you didn't cause fireworks, well, I got nothing. Actual Valentine's Day probabilities: nothing will live up to anyone's expectations, bar-none, across the board. It's like New Year's Eve, people. Nice Guys who spent too much on dinner don't get to be the only whiners this holiday.
But wait, there's more!
And then finally, the part wherein dudes are powerless to combat the vicious love-army of Valentine's Day. Waaaaaaaaah!
Perhaps this whole GraphJam entry belongs on Failblog.

Man, I would love to get a treadmill. I don't know where I'd put it, but it would be nice to not have to pay for a gym membership.
Posted 02/12/2010 at 09:25:17 AMAndrea, why do you hate love?
Posted 02/12/2010 at 10:18:10 AMA backrub would be *far* more likely to get someone laid, because they'd already be, y'know, touching me.

Posted 02/12/2010 at 07:27:59 PMSpeaking of 'Valentine's Day,' it was horribly predictable. :-( http://www.nickialanoche.com/2010/02/13/celebrate-this-weekend-with-your-honey-not-by-seeing-valentines-day/

Posted 03/01/2010 at 05:26:22 PMThanks to a concentrated marketing effort, Valentine's Day is celebrated in some Asian countries with Singaporeans, Chinese, Pakistan and South Koreans spending the most money on Valentine's gifts.
