Haters gotta hate on Snooki's look

I know haters gotta hate. That's what haters do. But why do they have to hate on someone as brazen, interesting and lady-proud as Jersey Shore's Snooki? That's more or less what Upright Citizen's Brigade comic Kate McKinnon did when she recently performed as Snooki and filmed this video for the Daily News.
In the paper, McKinnon is, I think, probably just trying to be all hilarious-snarky-comedian, but it comes off as rude and judgy. Not what I like to see from my funny ladies. The article is supposedly a step-by-step guide to looking like Snooki. Which, after reading the whole thing, you will realize no one in her right mind would ever do, because apparently, Snooki is an ugly, stupid person.
1. Kate McKinnon, 26, a comedian from Harlem, recently performed as Snooki, the infamous star of the MTV phenomenon "Jersey Shore," with the Upright Citizens Brigade. "You try to be as brain-dead as possible," says McKinnon about playing the much-mimicked and maligned Snooki. "You just try to feel so good about yourself when you have no reason to."
Why doesn't Snooki have a reason to feel good about herself? She's cute and silly and on television. She might, however, feel bad about herself if she spent any time at all reading what people say about her. For example:
2. "She has a completely unsexy sexuality," says McKinnon, as she applies the first of many layers of foundation in a "Deep Caramel" color. "She's a good girl -- she's brazen."
Snooki is curvy and unabashedly proud of the way she chooses to look. That look isn't for everyone, and it's definitely not high fashion, but who cares? Do you dress and act like your friends? Even if that doesn't mean looking like a Vogue ad? Does anyone really want to see Snooki in khakis and a cardigan? Really?
9. Can you tell the difference? "It's fun to play someone who is just enjoying life without any regard for what is going on around her," says McKinnon.
I hope Snooki doesn't regard what's going on around her, because what it is is mainly mockery and derision. Don't take it Snooki. You are a bad broad.

I haven't watched Jersey Shore yet (finishing up Peak Season) so I don't really understand the hate on this Snooki girl. From what I can tell, she seems to be fairly secure with who she is and unwilling to conform to the standard concept of what's hot, or cool or whatever.
Posted 02/23/2010 at 04:36:43 PMI think Peak Season is going to go on hiatus in my house for a bit so I can see what the heck all this is about.
That said, Snooki should bitchslap this Kate chick.
I agree, she's not the classiest person to ever walk the Earth. But all of the shit she's getting isn't deserved at all.
Posted 02/23/2010 at 04:43:49 PMShe's young and having fun, and I'm assuming the same age I am, early 20's you should be able to get away with this crap.
I'd write more, but fuck. I'm getting ready to go out. and I may just have a drunken rant about Snooki, Snooki-Positive of course.
Snooky is the shit. Period. I wish I could be confident as her. She's more than secure about herself and she's not a shit talker. I love her, all haters need to learn from how chill this chick is. Love ya Snooks!!
Posted 02/23/2010 at 07:20:56 PMI can't believe that someone would say such mean things about another living person in general. Snooki is awesome, she should be confident and feel good about herself. So many women are told not to like themselves that it's great to see someone who does. Team Snooki all the way!
Posted 02/24/2010 at 11:59:09 AMThis was done so long ago with Alyssa Milano, and much better

Posted 02/27/2010 at 06:11:49 AMI agree! Snooks is her own person! She's not going under 200 plastic surgeries to make herself look "beautiful" to societies standards, like almost every other person in hollywood does. I think she's refreshing.
Posted 03/02/2010 at 05:55:40 PMOk...so, yeah, a young woman who is confident and comfortable in her own skin is, admittedly, both unusual and appreciated.
However, anyone with any sense knows that there are certain behaviors that are "innocent fun" and others that are just plain inappropriate and trashy. Snooki, I think, needs to learn this distinction.
There is absolutely nothing inspiring or interesting about someone who spends their time club hopping, drinking and tanning. Ok, so she's confident? Big deal. What about someone who is confident in themselves and going to college or law school...or traveling?
Certainly there is more to life than a day at the mall and the lastest app on an Iphone. Sorry.
Posted 09/24/2010 at 07:06:25 AMThat stupid scag needs to be sent to a remote island. Along with the other guidos and guidettes on that show. Their 15 minutes are almost up. I kinda wish that house would burn while they're all drunk and in bed.
Posted 10/07/2010 at 01:36:58 PMShe is living proof that ewoks had sex with buffalo. She has no talent, is one of the most self-centered beings (not human) slithering across the planet, and wouldn't know a class act if it fell from the sky, landed on her face, and started to wiggle. Being young and having fun is one thing, being self-indulgent to the point of solipsism is repugnant - and, if you don't know that word, for GODZ sake take the time to look it up. Most likely applies to you, too.
