Vintage ads gone bad: Tab is for beautiful people, and creeps

Everyone knows that men are physically incapable of not ogling every hot woman that walks by, even if they're on a date with another woman. That's just a fun, wacky thing guys do, and us ladies are so charmed by it. In clearly related news, diet soda!

I think the creepiest part is the song. "Tab, Tab Cola, for beautiful people!" I mean, everyone knows about the link between extreme hotness and people who like diet soda, right?

Also weird: the two women appear to be practically twins. Maybe that's why the dude was checking the red-suited lady out. He was just thinking, "Wow, that white, thin blonde woman also fits into my society's idea of the pinnacle of beauty, just like my girlfriend! What a coincidence!" Oh, Tab Cola. Always slipping thoughtful social commentary into ads for one-calorie beverages.

Actually, the red bikini looks a little too "hippy" for today's standards. I've seen women out and about whose asses look about 6 inches wide and their pelvises too narrow to pass a kiwi fruit, much less a baby. Ick!

For some reason this reminds me of the drink Qube from the Molly Moon book series.

"Qube if you're cute, Qube if you're rude,
Everyone loves you because you drink Qube!"
