We've got a whole passel of present-type news to place under your putative Christmas tree this week! Also, we are alliterating with wild abandon because it is Christmas! We can do whatever we want! We are pretty amped up about this! We are looting and rioting with excitement! We rule the world and everything in it! Your puny mortal thoughts are nothing compared to our vast and wondrous knowledge of the universe! WE ARE GODS NOW!

Um. We lost time for a minute there. Sorry.

Anyway, we got you some gift-y girl geek news:

  • New DLC for Borderlands coming next week and Joystiq's got a preview for you. Hint: It's super-good.
  • Taylor Swift is not the next Supergirl! We know. We are just as relieved as you guys are.
  • Five actresses being considered for the role of Green Lantern's Carol Ferris. Write that down: "Carol Ferris." Not "Hal Jordan's Girlfriend," which is apparently the only possible way to refer to Carol Ferris in a headline in order for fans to care. Feh.
  • Blackest Night fans Rejoice! Comics Alliance's Laura Hudson and author/critic/super-geek Dougas Wolk sing for you in two-part harmony (plus ukele!) in this incredibly awesome parody of "Silent Night".
