As far as rappers go, Ludacris is one of the more likable ones to me. He's branched out into acting and takes it seriously, and his tongue-in-cheek lyrics sometimes make me smile.

And I have to admit, I crack up every time I hear his latest single, "How Low," off his upcoming album, Battle of the Sexes. It has what sounds like a chipmunk being sampled and singing lyrics such as "Ass up" and "How low can you go?" The juxtaposition of a tough rapper with a munchkin voice is pretty funny.

But I'm disappointed that Ludacris continues to focus many of his lyrics on sex and women's body parts. If you haven't guessed yet, the track is all about seeing just how close to the ground a woman can put her booty. Why booty dropping is some odd form of mating eludes me, but it's consistently high on the list of what rappers seem to love.

In "How Low", Ludacris commands the object of his affection to throw her butt down on the floor, but then he says she needs to pull her pants up because her booty is jiggling out of her jeans. Luda should know that when you go low, there might be some butt cleavage in view.

He also tells women to practice the ass drop in front of the mirror, since we should all spend our precious time coming up with new ways to turn him on. He also says he might shoot video of the dancing girls, so if you happen to be grinding with Ludacris in a club, be warned.

And when it comes to droppin' it low, Luda doesn't discriminate--he likes all "flavors" of women. Especially Asians, since he loves "how they seem to please us."

I would love, love, love it if Ludacris started applying his acting work ethic to his music and start making smart choices when it comes to lyrics. "How Low" is a message we've heard all too often before, and not even a cute, high-pitched voice can make this song appealing.
