Chicks Aren't Funny: The sheer hilarity that is domestic violence

Things that are not more awesome just because you turned something or someone around: the reverse cowgirl, domestic violence jokes.

See, it's funny because a lady beat up a dude. Instead of a dude beating up a lady, which is what you would expect to happen! HAHAHAHAHAHA.

I know I'm lame because I'm only just now finding out about this ridiculously bad sketch, but I really can't be bothered to consume any SNL content that doesn't involve Andy Samberg, T-Pain and a nautical-themed pashmina Afghan. Simply put, domestic violence is just not all that funny. Even if the guy is a cheater, or the couple is rich, or the woman is from some random Scandinavian country.

In addition, the underlying premise of the "funny" part of this "joke" is that women are so incredibly weak and powerless that the idea that they would lash out against a man is super-hilarious. Oh, silly ladies. Always trying to have power and agency and just really looking like sulky bitches. Why do you even try?

So, true. Still, I couldn't help but listen to Florence & The Machine's Kiss With A Fist while reading this article. http://bit.ly/ua5y9

Yeah, that's about as funny as the memories of my male friends who have had the shit kicked out of them by their female partners and have never raised a hand back due to being gentleman. Add the horrible shame of being an abused man and I am just doubled over laughing.
