(Not-So) Hot Lady Track of the Week: David Guetta and Akon's "Sexy Chick"

How Akon is still a popular rapper befuddles me, but here he is yet again in the new track "Sexy Chick," produced by French DJ David Guetta.

The song does have a great BT/DJ Darude-ish beat, but the trashy lyrics and message negate the cool melody. First off, the original version of the song is called, "Sexy Bitch." "Sexy Chick" is the clean version.

Next, Akon is actually complimenting the girl he calls a bitch/chick (totally interchangeable, of course) by saying that he wants to get to know her. They've never exchanged words; all he's seen is "the way that booty movin'," and he can't take no more.

So, he tells the girl he wants to give her some props without being disrespectful. He does this by saying, "Damn, you's a sexy chick, damn girl." He also says she's way better than the neighborhood whore. We know that every neighborhood has a whore, and if you can move your booty up and down the way Akon likes it, you ain't no whore.

Of course, the music video features only classy women dancing around in bikinis at a pool party. It also includes a performance by Akon at a club called, "F*** Me, I'm Famous." Because if Akon wants to bang a booty shakin' girl, he only needs to flash some bling or bring up his hit records.

I'm happy to have some diversity on the airwaves, and it's cool to have DJ dance music mixed with R&B. But we much prefer Guetta's collabo with Kelly Rowland, "When Love Takes Over," rather than Akon's unintelligent blabbering. And thank gosh the clean version is the one that's being played--it doesn't matter how many times you call me sexy, when you pair it with calling me a bitch, it doesn't matter.
