Kate WIN-slet her lawsuit against the Daily Mail

The Oscar-winning star did not attend the high court in London for the settlement of her action against Associated Newspapers, which publishes the Daily Mail. But in a statement she said that she was "delighted" that the Mail had apologised for making false allegations.
In a nutshell, the Mail accused Winslet of lying about diet and exercise in an article that featured nude images of the actress taken from her various films. I know, that screams front page news to me, too. It's more distressing because Winslet has been especially vocal about body acceptance and over-Photoshopping:
Winslet has spoken out about digital manipulations of her photos in the past, but the fact remains: she would be lovely at any size and is, even as a "curvy" Hollywood actress, very thin compared to the rest of us. Regardless, I like to see the Daily Mail taken to task for its bad behavior, even if this is a mere slap on the wrist."I was particularly upset to be accused of lying about my exercise regime and felt that I had a responsibility to request an apology in order to demonstrate my commitment to the views that I have always expressed about body issues, including diet and exercise," she said. "I strongly believe that women should be encouraged to accept themselves as they are, so to suggest that I was lying was an unacceptable accusation of hypocrisy."

Go Kate! Now if only more actresses would call these magazines out on their (massive amounts of) bullshit....

They really are a disgrace.
