Sarah Palin bragging, tooting own horn in inexplicable continued press presence

Obviously the 10,000 word epic profile on Sarah Palin that's running in Vanity Fair this month has somehow convinced Sarah Palin and others that she should do and say things that are not relevant to her day job as the governor of Alaska. Just when you thought the 'gov couldn't get any more ridonk, she went off and started bragging about how she could beat Barack Obama in a footrace.

Palin took off her big girl panties, put on some day-of-the-week numbers, and just short of blowing raspberries before speeding away on her bike, told Runner's World Magazine:

"I betcha I'd have more endurance," Palin said in an interview published on the magazine's Web site Tuesday. "My one claim to fame in my own little internal running circle is a sub-four marathon. It wasn't necessarily a good running time, but it proves I have the endurance within me to at least gut it out and that is something."
It was a vicious blow to President Obama, who is no doubt going to tell the teacher and totally get Palin detention for, like, a million years. Are we serious, here? Palin's team loses to Obama's team for the position of the highest, arguably most powerful political office in the entire history of the world, and she's now dwelling on how she can run better because she's determined?! Oh, honey. If last November taught her nothing about how determination is no match for, say, skill and qualification ....

In what is not exactly a thinly veiled metaphor for another kind of race, Palin continued to talk like the washed-up quarterback of the high school football team who can't get past the glory days:

"If you ever talk to my old coaches they'd tell you, too," she continued. "What I lacked in physical strength or skill I made up for in determination and endurance. So if [it] were a long race that required a lot of endurance I'd win."
I suppose modern politicians aren't exactly known for their nuances--sappy letter-writing adulterer Sanford notwithstanding--but if anybody thinks Sarah Palin is convinced in her heart that she's talking about actual running races, not political races, well, perhaps you're also interested in the acquisition and management of a bridge?

1. She is totally reminding me of Napoleon Dynamite's uncle here, and

2. Maybe she SHOULD challenge Prez. Obama to a race... he stops after a few hundred yards or whatever and she just keeps going..... FAR, FAR AWAY....

If people would just stop writing about her, she'd finally have to resort to letting the twins breathe on camera in order to get some press.

STOP WRITING ABOUT HER OR WE'LL NEVER SEE HER JUGS.

Hahaha. Priceless, Davelog.

Well, when I stop to think that my mom could get THAT close to being the President of the United States of America just by becoming PTA president and then running for mayor of some tiny town, I get very very scared. And, what's worse, Sarah Palin isn't as smart as my mom.

That being said, don't knock athletic prowess. There was a time not long ago in human history when athletic prowess was a better factor for determining who would make a good ruler than foreign policy or further education.

agreed. but it's not as though Obama had that much more experience than her. this was always confusing to me during the last election. McCan'ts best critique against NObama was that he wasn't qualified, so then he takes this idiot as his running mate? fucking moronic.

at any rate, while Calvin points out a truth about the history of athletic and physical prowess, why should we give a fuck about Palin's running habits now? it's all bullshit-just like the Yahoo News article on Obama's "Behind the Back Basketball Dribble". WHO THE FUCK GIVES A SHIT?!?

Oh Sarah...how can we miss you when you won't go away?

Something really must be done about those who will not bow to our supreme overlord the great and beneficent God-Emporer Obama! Especially some chick, what the hell? Diversity rules, as long as well all think the same!

We're getting closer, people!
