If you, like me, cannot seem to tear yourself away from the daily slog despite the holiday weekend, be cheered: depending on how close you come to blowing up yourself and others tonight and tomorrow, you're still probably going to be having a better weekend than these people:

  • The elementary school teacher who accidentally sent her kids home with a sex tape showing her pleasuring herself on her sofa. A reminder to all of us how important it is to keep your computer filing system neat and organized.
  • The women whose feathered hairdos are now making the Slate rounds. "Hey, is that Katie from accounting? OMG GO GET THE SALES DEPARTMENT THEY'RE GONNA LOVE THIS!"
  • Amy Winehouse, who is no longer allowed to swim in her hotel pool. Sweet Jebus! Everyone around her is apparently content to supply her with drugs and alcohol, but they're not going to let her SWIM? There is no justice in this world.
  • Everyone who is not Rupert Grint, who gets to snog Emma Watson and is not totally disappointed about it. Ron and Hermione 4EVA!
  • Ruth Madoff, who is soooo vewwwy sad wiffout her furrr coaty-woaty.

Re: Winehouse

I don't know what they're worried about - if Amy got into any body of water that I was in, I'd be sure to get out as quickly as possible - who knows how resistant her cooties are to chlorine?

Or they're possibly just attempting to avoid a "famous singer drowns in hotel pool in drug induced coma" incident.

Considering that's exactly what the hotel said in the article, congratulations, you can repeat exactly what you just read!
