Chicks Aren't Funny: Kathy Griffin's bod gives us the blues

Way back in April, I was pretty tired of Kathy Griffin's incessant hooting and hollering about her hot new bod. It being July and all now, you can imagine that I'm really, really tired of said hooting and hollering.

Kathy, I ask you, what the hell? She's in People today:

"Finally, at 48-years-old I am seen as a stupid shallow sex object," [Griffin] says. "That's right: there are guys now that are not gay - well as far as I know - that want to [sleep with] me, who don't think I am funny, or even smart. They just think I have a hot body and I'm all for that."
Griffin's body obsession was actually kicked off by none other than Heinous Heiress Paris Hilton herself, who dared Kathy to wear a bikini on D-List. Today, Griffin seems to be unable to let go now that she's not letting her looks go. I'm not sure what the news peg for today's People piece was--I mean, the rag does usually make a small effort to be timely--but the lead has Kathy talking about how she will outright cheat in order to win any online beauty poll. Not only will she enlist everyone she knows to vote constantly:

Griffin has a secret weapon. "I'll call [her friend and Apple co-founder] Steve Wozniak and make him hack into your server. I can't lose."
Just. So. Over. It. I know she's trying to make it into a joke. I know that. But it's not funny. It's desperate and sad. This woman has to know better--after all, she's said she spent most of her life as an ugly fag hag who had to get by on smarts and personality. Looks to me like she lost some of her brains with the belly fat.

At least at one point Joan Rivers was considered talented.
Why do we get all the lame versions of the old thing?
Ryan Seacreast is the new Casey Kasem,
but at least Casey Kasem was the voice of shaggy,
Ryan Seacreast is just gay. (Sorry advocate)

Actually, she was recently in BUST magazine talking about how she regrets all of her plastic surgery, and that she's gotten more compliments since she stopped going under the knife all the time. I'm not her biggest fan or anything-- but she sounded a lot less like a floozy in the profile I read.
