Something to fumble with. A barrier. A barrier between you and, well, whatever wants to get downstairs. Can we please, dear ladies, make it more difficult than a swish and a pull? Can we please, please, PUT PANTS ON?
Dear, Dear Ladies,
When have we done you wrong? At what point did we stop being the intriguing, mystifying point of entry? Perhaps we are less exciting than yoga stretchies, and perhaps we are less thrilling than flats with socks, and certainly socks with sandals. But that doesn't mean you should abandon us. That doesn't mean you should write us off and say, "T-shirts with jeans are sooooo forever ago! T-shirts with non-pants are so now!" We have always been good to you. We have always been friendly. And we always, always love to keep you proper, from bar to mall. Please, please don't do this.
Please don't do this now. We love you. We can work it out.
