10 Silly But Valid Reasons Why I'm Psyched for Lost

Posted at 5:00 AM Jan 20, 2009

The fifth season of Lost starts tomorrow, and I couldn't be more excited. It's not just because I'm a giant television dork either. There are so many things to be physched about -- and almost all of them make me sound like an overly excited 12-year-old. Oh, darn it to heck, I don't care! Here's what'll be on my mind for the next 36 hours.

10. I miss Sawyer's bare chest

There are Jack people in this world, and there are Sawyer people. To all the Jack people out there, I say, "You fools! Who looks more badass while lounging on the beach in just his shorts?"

9. I miss Losties wearing makeup

For seasons, those beautiful people we know as the Lost actors have faced a unique dilemma. Since they're supposed to be trapped on a tropical island, they can't really justify wearing makeup. Now that some of them have ended up back in normal world -- with pharmacies that sell mascara -- we can finally see what they look like properly dolled up.

8. I miss watching people sweat

Props to Lost for being the only show on television that makes sweating cool. Often you look at TV characters doing hardcore things and think, "If I had to beat the crap out of that bad guy and then leap across buildings, I'd be drenched!" The Losties live in a warm, sticky place, and their shirts are always accordingly damp. But are they shy about it? No!

7. I miss clean-shaven Jack

Aw, poor Jack. I know it's just a device to help us figure out what's happening in what order, but I really look forward to the day when you'll shave off that hornet's nest and get cute again.

6. I miss tanning vicariously

There's something especially wonderful about the fact that Lost, which is shot in beautiful, sunny Hawaii, starts its season in January. Cloudy skies? Cold? Snow? Not on my TV.

Not to be an ass, but the picture you posted clearly shows the statue has four toes, not six.

Thanks for catching that!

I miss watching Hurley maintain the same weight inexplicably although he is on an island that as far as we know has no Mc Donalds or trans fatty foods. Yes, I know he was a hoarder, but still, a interesting yearly mystery.

My husband misses all the gratuitous cleavage shots from Juliette and Kate.
