Emergency contraception and Jason Mraz on Pandora

No, not mine--or his, as the case may be--but the imaginary condom that someone was using. And so our imaginary lady may be pregnant. And so she goes out and gets emergency contraception, aka Plan B, assuming her pharmacist doesn't have a problem with it. She comes home and ... reevaluates what she can do to prevent such events in the future? Has a talk with her partner? Fixes a nice cup of tea and watches an 80s television marathon? Goes for a jog?

No! She heads over to Pandora.com to listen to official Plan B radio! I can only guess that's the bizarre reason behind Plan B's sponsored internet radio station. Listeners have three choices on Plan B Radio: "Be Calm," top 40 tunes, "Be In the Know," hip-hop hits and "Be Yourself," Latin beats.

The first songs I got on "Be Calm" were from Jason Mraz, Matchbox 20 and John Mayer. Isn't that stuff supposed to make you sterile, anyway? And what woman who's just gone through an emergency contraception hassle should be made to listen to this pap? The hip-hop station, which features 50 Cent and Usher, among others, also doesn't strike me as the kind of station that would totally soothe me if I thought I might be pregnant or have a condom-fail STI. "Be Yourself" at least features songs in a language I don't know, so if they're singing about sexin' all night or hoes or something, I at least won't be able to tell. Selena and contraception, together at last ... wait, I thought that was the kind of thing people listened to when they actually wanted to make a baby?
