Ads gone horrifically awry: Burger King's primitive savages

"The hamburger is a culinary culture," explains one White Guy to The Other White Guy at WhopperVirgins.com. A "culture" that Burger King feels like it needs to spread. But where? I know! To all those uneducated, primitive brown-skinned savages out there!

I can't think of a modern ad campaign quite as exploitative and offensive as "Whopper Virgins." I'm shocked it even exists in my lifetime; it seems more like some bizarre eugenics-meets-marketing effort from way, way before the civil rights movement. Unsurprisingly, I'm not the only person on the Internet who's completely shocked.

The ads are such a nice little packaging of colonialist ideals. These people are strange! They don't know what a burger is!? They must be educated! Yes, educated with saturated fats and diabetes and Disney film tie-ins for their children! Eat this! it's good for you! We promise. We know better.

I hope they're prepared for a whole colony of natives shitting themselves after being forced to eat a whopper and a big mac for the first time.

Wow... are we sure that boys over at Sterling Cooper didn't cook this one up back in 1960?
