Shoelace Hair Bows from Hairtopia.comFeather fascinators are the current mark of a sartorialist who wants fashion to bleed into her hair accessories. But there was a time when shoelace hair clips were the raddest alternative to scrunchies ever invented. Royal-hued, neon-colored, or metallic. Crazy-glued to a cheap silver clip. Purchased for $1 at a drugstore with your allowance.
Instead of a fairy wood nymph, one usually resembled... um, a girl with bouncy shoelaces in her hair. And gosh, did they ever go great with Swatch watches and mis-matched leggings from the GAP.

Posted 08/31/2009 at 06:25:19 AMSome of the coolest fashion hair clips were meant to be fun and not fashionable. Glad to see fun and fashionable all in one hair accessory.
Posted 10/14/2009 at 12:31:36 PMWaiting to see those in black, dark purple, and dark red on the goth chicks down the street. I wouldn't be surprised to see them on the goth dudes either... lol
