The history and politics of big breasts in video games

Tracy Clark-Flory, Salon writer and friend of Heartless Doll, recently interviewed Playboy writer Damon Brown about his new book Porn and Pong: How Grand Theft Auto, Tomb Raider and Other Sexy Video Games Changed Our Culture. Brown's book, which came out just last week, connects the history of sex in video games -- a specialty near and dear to my own journalistic heart -- with the history of pop culture over the last few decades. As yours truly happens to be happy hour buddies with the author and scored an early copy, you can read my review here. I also did an interview of Brown back on the topic for The Village Voice this June.
Clark-Flory's review, however, has something I can't offer you, readers: lots of awesome questions about breasts. Yup, Salon covers everything you could ever want to know about the history of boobs in video games -- from realistic physics ("Newton's laws of mammaries") to shrinking cup sizes in virtual worlds to Lara Croft's enduring curve appeal. Pixelated cleavage has never been so interesting. Or, wait a minute, maybe it has....
