Krispy Kreme Cheeseburgers: The Nightmare is a Reality

I had heard the rumors of the mythical creation known as the Krispy Kreme cheeseburger, formed from the unholy union of a Krispy Kreme donut, a slab of burger, and some melted cheese. I even had friends who'd ventured on the quests to find (and eat) this creature -- specifically driving to a Krispy Kreme and then a McDonald's in order to assemble one of these fast food, artery-clogging monstrosities. But never in the history of the internet universe have I seen a photo of the elusive Krispy Kreme donut, and never in such quantity. I am, as the legend predicts, seriously grossed out.

These particular Krispy Kreme cheeseburgers were served at the Cafeteria of Google's New York office. I thought they were supposed to treat you real nice at Google, not secretly plot your bodily demise. Yuck.

OK... I like the occasional donut. And I like cheeseburgers. But the notion of combining the two... It's not appealing. No. Just no.

Oh brother, give it a rest. Overreacting a bit? Nobody is making you eat it. I think all this "nightmare is a reality" over dramatic reaction is a desperate attempt at hipness and dissing of the overly corporate nature of this fastfood combo (McDonald's AND Krispy Kreme) rather than what is actually in it. Your hissyfit makes me think you are a hypochondriac if you overreact so strongly at what other people are eating 2,500 miles away. For most normal people, the normal reaction would simply be "Who cares??"

"Epic" is probably the one way to describe it :).
