Finally! In my whole group of friends who have read the book, every single one of them is all for Bella to be with Edward. I don't mean that I'm not happy with the outcome of Breaking Dawn, but I've been for Jacob since day one. I guess it's beceause of the fact that when Edward left her for "her own good", he was there to pick up the pieces and put Bella back together, sure he had alterior motives, but Bella wouldn't have to change herself at all to be with him. I mean, I guess it would be akward for Bella, since she thinks of him as just her best friend. My best friend is a guy, and, yeah no, that would never happen, it would just never happen, but I just relly think that it would have worked out for Bella and Jacob if Alice had never come back. I'm not knocking on Alice, or anything, but in Jacob's case, it was really bad timing. I still loved Breaking Dawn, and it's still one of my favorite books, so I'm not gong to spoil it for anyone who's not done with it yet, but I am extremely happy with the entire outcom of the book, but I wish that there was some alternate ending, or something like that.

Post Script: I totally agree with the statement that Jacob would be fun to drink with in the beach. I'm not of drinking age yet, but the possibility is still there. I just think that he would be a hilarious person to hang out with.

Lets look at Sam and Leah, she was so hurt when

I'm team Seth Clearwater... Hahah! That kid grows on me... Jacob and Edward both have good and bad points and those points are usually exaggerated by fans. I loved Edward from day one, never really cared for Jacob. In New Moon, Jacob was the cool badass kid and I liked Jacob since then. One I knew is I hate Bella for getting their attentions. Though I'm all for Edward+Bella because I seem to see Jacob as Bella's brother and for some reason it just could never reach an end. Its true somehow you can love two people at once and when you choose, you choose the person who you loved more. For instance, why can't you forget your first love when you already have a husband??? Neh? SM did the "I am split between two guys" thing really well, exploring in depth and outer deepness.

I TOTALLY agree with you. I know our ship was doomed to sink from the beginning, but regardless Jacob was always better for Bella. Number 8 is a point that many Edward fans seem to miss, but is too busy being "dazzled" to enjoy almost anything with Edward. Jacob makes her laugh, and trust me, that's more important in a relationship than you can possibly imagine.

Bella needs someone who's going to make her feel good about herself and love her as a human can love her. Laughter and touching/physical contact is a big part of a relationship. Jacob can give both. (I'm not just talking about sex when I say touching. I'm talking hugging, cuddling, etc.)

as for the article itself, i started out as Team Edward. but by the time Eclipse rolled around and he was disabling Bella's car and having Alice kidnap her "for her own good", i was pretty fed up. i attempted to stay Switzerland and "not be affected by the territorial disputes of mythical creatures", but after witnessing that and the subsequent persecution of Jacob by fandom i think i pretty firmly align myself with Team Jacob.

i mean, again, it would be nice if people who throw around a word like "rape" knew exactly what it meant. Jacob is hardly a rapist. he was simply fighting for the woman he loved(and who he wanted to save from a what he believed was death) in the only way he knew how, to show her how he felt by kissing her. all you Team Edward fans can keep calling him a rapist or arrogant or aggressive or whatever other adjective you want. doesn't make it true. just makes you seem like you don't have a fair grasp on the english language or reality. just sayin'.

I have to completly agree with your article - I tried to stay neutral throughout the books because lets face it - whats the point in getting involved with some crazy fangirl obsession for hate - but after Eclipse, I have to say that I went completly to Team Jacob - I mean honestly what kind of guy kidnaps you for your own good - god hero worship is so annoying and not to mention - there has already been the perfect vampire/human love story and it wasn't written by SMeyer.

I am Team Jacob, but if Bella chooses to pick Edward and throw her entire life away for a man, then I'm not gonna stop her. I LOVE jacob and I'm sooo happy how breaking dawn turned out. Before breaking dawn, I was kinda leaning toward team jacob, and i hate to say it, but you can see that bella and edward belong together. But I was thinking about it, and just a theory, but no matter who bella chose, jacob won either way. it made me happy! lol because if jacob chose bella, then bella would've never had renesme, and so jacob would've never imprinted on anyone. so he would've been happy with bella forever! but since bella chose edward and had renesmee, jacob imprinted and is now happy again! sorry... i just felt the need to share that. So i LOVE jacob, but i'm so glad that bella and edward ended up together and that jacob is happy too. I haven't read BD yet (because it came out 2 days later than america and on a frigging bank holiday over here!) so my opinion is based solely on the first 3 books. I really, really want to be team Jacob, he's sweet in his own way, not a control freak like Ed and, I agree, I'd prefer to date a hot body than a cold one. But he didn't imprint on Bella. Eventually he will imprint on someone else and then Bella will be left without anyone, so for Bella's sake I am extreamly grudgingly team Edward.

And hay, what's wrong with being immortal? Anne Rice's interveiw with a vampire theorises that the only problem they have, after their family's have all died, edwards problem about soals and the thirst is if they are turned when they're still kids, which Bella's not. I'd say she'll be grand.
And why let that unexplained talent go to waste? :p

And for all those who complain about J.K. being compared to Meyer. We know J.K. is probably a better writer than Meyer. Personally I hate both. But infairness it's the story we're all after. UGH!! this is ridiculous. i've been reading all the comments up to here and i must say that i completely disagree with the article and what some team jacob people have stated. first off i'd like to clarify that i've read all four books( which means I've read breaking dawn as well). also, I'm not some 12 year old teenaged girl - I'm 16 but thats not the point. of all comments i've read, i MUST disagree on one comment where it was stated that those who support Edward are "hordes of brainless Edward fan-girls" because its just stupid and i don't really care if it was just stated sarcastically, but I have an average of 93 and I'm going to be a junior of High school so technically, I'm not that brainless. Not to mention the fact that people need a brain to read. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the way Breaking Dawn came out to be and maybe this so called list have some point of its own, but there is no point of assurance that even if Bella chose jacob that their kids won't be "werewolves" as well. if she did chose jacob, she better hope that she wins the lottery or something cuz at the rate jacob treat clothes, its going to be necessary for her to buy thousands of clothes. In regards to what happened in Eclipse, no matter how bad it seems that Edward left Bella, he did it because he thought that was the best for her, he would have never guessed that Bella would react the way she did and some part of me believes that if he did, he won't do what he did; Moreover, if Edward didn't leave, Jacob wouldn't even stand a chance. As to point 10, its just how others viewed them both and if im not mistaken, love isn't about how other people see them, its how they see each other. Besides, Edward always saw bella as a very beautiful person, its just that she can't see that herself. The point with the car is just so stereotyped - if a person is really a fan of the twilight series, then they would have search the internet and find that not all volvo cars are for soccer moms. Jacob's motorcycle doesn't prove anything really and so what if he can fix a car what does that prove? Edward may not seem fun but that can't be for sure either, the book can't cover every single second that bella and edward had shared, maybe he is funny? (of course im saying this all hypothetically) Have it ever crossed a mind that maybe he doesn't seem all that funny because there is usually something bad going on at their present time or in the future that it just doesn't seem appropriate to be making jokes. And again on the abandonment, he did it for her and even when he left it was always him that she thought of. and i repeat, he never thought that his departure would cause so much pain for her. Jacob may be warm but I don't really "sense" that he would be able to give her the type of warmth Edward can provide her. About giving up her soul to be immortal, Edward never asked that of her. That was her decision. Edward would love her no matter how old she got if she didn't chose to be immortal. edward would be happy if she is and when i think of the way jacob acted in eclipse, i would view him as someone who needs to "own" that person they fall for. Edward, on the other hand, did not have to "own" her even though it cause him pain to be separated from her. Its the type of "self-sacrificing" love that isn't so easy to do. I'm not saying that i hate jacob( i used to before i read Breaking dawn but its more of an understanding of how he feels after reading that story in his perspective that it is love as i feel for Edward), its just that Edward always seemed like the perfect match for Bella, even when he left. Having vampires chase around them may sound bad but those dangerous experiences actually made their relationship stronger. Which couple in this universe doesn't encounter problems? and Edward's annoying sisters? Wasn't it obvious from the very first book that Bella liked Alice as well as Esme even though she isn't edward's sister? Her relationship with Rosalie may not have been smooth but they did get along in the end, and i really doubt that even though rosalie was rude to her, bella never really hated her so the chance of competing with his sister, seems hardly possible. about jacob's clothes being exploded off - well i can't say much on that since i've imagined him to be all hairy but its a matter of opinion in this case. The point about "getting laid" is kind of inapplicable at this point, since i've read the book, since they did have a baby the normal way and im sure most of us as readers knows how that happens.

If i've offended anyone though, im sorry but i was writing this at bursting moment. i may be a bit biased in some cases though. I'm just expressing my opinion. But to be honest, i did think of jacob as someone who was using bella's depressing feelings as an advantage during New moon(though i only thought of that after he kissed her in Eclipse). Despite it all though, i've come to "understand",as much as a reader can for a fictional character, Jacob's view on things. I'm not trying to change anyone's views despite what it may seem. I just find a need to be more fair for Edward.
People shouldn't compare Stephenie Meyer with J.K. Rowling cuz they're writing similar topics but different genres of fiction. The twilight series is more of a romance fiction than Harry Potter. Harry Potter is more of a book suitable for all genders and age group but I feel that Twilight would mostly appeal to the female gender of the young adult age period. Their ways of writing are naturally different since they learn things differently especially when one is in Britain and one is in the U.S., so it should be expected that J.K. Rowling writes better. Personally, I kind of prefer Stephenie Meyer's style of writing but maybe thats because i've been taught in the U.S. myself.

*Also, it was the fact that Edward and Bella that I come to LOVE this series so much. And it was Edward that made me wish that I was a vampire myself. XP silly, i know.*

I started out reading Twlight and of course, fell in love with the Edward and Bella story. Then, I read New Moon. At first, once Edward left I was thoroughly digusted and didn't want to even finish reading since Edward wouldn't be around for the next few hundred pages but I did anyway. And I discovered Jake. I guess I fell for Jake because he is more realistic. He's a real guy. He has real emotions. He can get angry at Bella and not care if he hurts her feelings. He can love Bella just as strongly. Things between Bella and Jake aren't perfect but that's what I love. Perfect gets boring, fast. Jake makes mistakes. Jake doesn't always do what he should but I love him anyway.

I loved your list and totally agree, Jacob would make a way better boyfriend than Edward (even if you were a vampire and just as pretty as he is).

the last point is sorta like stupid, does sex really have to be the issue when it comes to edward vs. jacob? even though bella does want to do it with edward, it's because she's in love with him. saying edward was perfect and then later naming his flaws, you totally contradicted yourself. like, "oh he's perfect... blah blah" then saying things like he's too cold, he drives a volvo and the thing were he wants to kill bella when he kisses her? wow, yah totally contradicted yourself. and edward is perfect in BELLA'S perspective. everyone has to realize it's in her perspective. edward is perfect to bella. also about the whole thing where edward doesn't make bella laugh, they have their own special relationship. only reason her and jacob have that kind of relationship where they laugh and have fun is because they are BEST FRIENDSm and thats just how they are with each other. yeup, TEAM EDWARD! but jacob is pretty awesome too, but not as great as edward.

I am so glad that someone wrote an article supporting Team Jacob! It's about time we were represented somehow, even if our cause is somewhat hopeless. I understand the appeal of Edward, but you're right, he's no fun. He is overprotective and seems to always put Bella in danger, not that she cares at all. It's just that she's so in love with him that she can't think for herself anymore, and I want that freedom. Jacob can give that. To each her own.

The author is just stating her opinion. You can agree or disagree, but if you're trying to change anyone's minds, flooding the message box with "ZOMG DIDNT U REED BREAKING DAWN?! IT IZ LIEK TOTALLY BELLA/EDWARD AND JAKE/RENESMEE 4EVR!!!11" just isn't going to do it.

Personally, I think that your list is completely foolish. A lot of your facts are completely false.
First of all, Bella LOVES Edward. Ever heard of the word love? She doesn't care if he's too perfect, more attractive than her, or is too cold when she's close to him. When you're in love, you put all of the complications aside, no matter what. Obviously, Bella doesn't care about all of that because she can't take the feeling when they are apart.
You mentioned how Edward drives a Volvo and how a motorcycle is "so much hotter". Maybe that's just your type. And who cares what kind of car someone drives? Not me. And not Bella, evidently. Also, you mention that Bella never wins a fight with Edward. Ah, yes she does. It's a big one. She wants to become a vampire, and Edward strongly disapproves, but the date ends up being set nonetheless.
I can name numerous times when Bella laughs in Edward's presence. On their honeymoon in Breaking Dawn, they have an amazing, blissful time. You say they're too busy "living the Greatest Love Story Ever Told" to have fun, and that's completely false. Once again, may I add that they're in love? That beats all the odds. Sure, Jacob might know how to have a good time and be a lot of fun to drink with on the beach, but excuse me for saying this, he's more best friend material than "soulmate" material. And all he had was a crush on Bella, it's not like he imprinted on her or anything.
Next, Edward did NOT leave Bella abandoned in the woods. He left her right in eyeshot of the house, where she could get back easily. She made the mistake of wandering after him and losing her way. Consider the facts, please. And Edward left her for her protection. He didn't want her to be killed. After that incident on her birthday, he got to thinking about how dangerous it really could be. That's why he left her. And it WAS for her own good. And for his, as well, because if he killed her he'd also want to die too. Which brings up another point. Edward loves Bella enough that he'd want to die if she died. I don't believe that Jacob would do that. Also, Jacob was so set on getting Bella that he would do anything to win her from Edward. He'd even kill Edward (which would hurt Bella terribly). That doesn't seem right to me. Edward says that he'd ACCEPT if Bella choose Jacob, which is more mature and more of a kind thing to do. It shows he cares about her. That's right, he genuinely CARES.
Bella is also WILLING to give up her human life to be a vampire because she loves Edward more. She loves him so much she doesn't care what the cost is. And yes, Bella has been in mortal danger in many of the books, but she comes out alive, IF you recall. And she continues to stay with Edward, so that has to tell you that she doesn't, um, care if she's in mortal danger or not. And Bella does NOT have to compete with Edward's sisters. She loves the other Cullens as if they are her actual family. Which, they do become her family in Breaking Dawn.
Sure, Jacob's clothes might rip off when he phases into a werewolf, but who the heck cares? It's not about lust here. It's not about sex. It's about love. You and your friend "Lilia" really should realize that love is not all about that.
Which brings me to my last point. Sure, you can get laid with Jacob, but why should that matter? It seems like sex is all that guys want, and Edward is not like that. He wants to keep his virtue. Which seems like the sensible thing to do, in their case. In my opinion (and in Stephenie's, as I've heard), it's the sensible thing to do in every situation. Wait until you're married. Which is what Bella and Edward do. And, he doesn't WANT to kill Bella while he's kissing her. He never wants to; he's a vampire and he just loves blood. It's just his nature. And he doesn't want to feel that way about her, he wants what's best for Bella. And that's what makes their relationship so strong.
Which is why Edward is undoubtedly a better choice. And Bella loves him. She can't deal without him. Jacob is better as a best friend. I mean, what if she choose Jacob and he imprinted on someone? That wouldn't be so great. Edward promises forever, and so forever it is. :)

I'm a big Jacob fan, and honestly, I like Bella better with him. But, at the same time, I'm not an Edward hater. I think that he's also interesting and good for her in his own way. Now, I'm not going to say too much because I don't want to spoil anything for people who haven't finished "Breaking Dawn," but I REALLY love how Stephenie Meyer concludes that little love triangle, how she ties up all the loose ends, and who Bella ultimately ends up with.

First, I'd like to say that I am an Edward fan. However, I agree that Jake was there for her when she needed someone. And coming from my personal experience, that's more important than anything else. Edward never should have left, yes it proved he truly loved her because it was so difficult, but it was still wrong. Jake and Bella never would have worked out. He drives her nuts, didn't imprint on her, and they were best friends, platonic family in her mind. I'd also like to stress that she kisses Edward freely, but Jake has to trick her into kissing him. Lastly, Bella is free to make her choices (or Stephenie is, but still) and she shouldn't be criticized for being an individual. I would have picked Jake, only because Edward tried to give up on the relationship, but that is just me. Bella is perfect with Edward.

So i adore and love Jacob and i want him to have the happiest ending, which i think he did because he gets to be in reneesme's life which is what he wanted now that he has imprinted. At one point i really wanted her and jacob to be together because i didn't think it was fair that Bella had to give up so much and i thought she should live her life normally BUT stephenie found a way to give both her and edward everything they wanted. and im grateful bcuz jacob would have imprinted on someone and broken bella's heart eventually and i feel like Edward deserved his happiness as well. all in all, her becoming a vampire is what truly made her happy and seems to erase all of the reasons she shouldn't be with Edward. she couldn't give Jacob the love he needed bcuz Edward existed...(im still not sure im okay with the fact that they even had a kid tho :) lol i would have like a little edward jacob but then i guess jacob wouldnt have got his happy ending.) Jacob is sooo much better than edward. I am so happy that someone agrees with me. When I went to get Breaking Dawn 12 in the morning there were activities first. One of them was a discusion on who was better JACOB or Edward about 93 percent said Edward. :(

I absolutely agree with you, i was Team Jacob from the start. Edward is cool in his own way [to Bella of course] but to me hes just not very appealing. and yes, he is perfect FOR US..so what? and i don't think we want to be close to a very hot body during a hot summer, (as well as we may not want to be near the cold body of edward in winter) but that's not the point.

I was ALL for Edward. Like, I didn't like Jacob at all. But in the last book I kind of changed my opinion. I think I'm still for Edward, but those points you made were very convincing, things I never thought about. But your last points about the sex scene would change if you read Breaking Dawn...anyway, nice points. Glad you weren't mean about it so you don't have angry Edward fanatics after you! :P

In the first book I liked much Edward's character for the aura of mystery that surrounded him and his love with Bella hooked me, but as I have been reading other books, Bella seems to me unbearable and manipulative, in addition to egoistic, capricious, and very dependent. Edward more and more apathetic and boring, as cold emotionally as he is supposed to be physically, on the other hand Jacob's character is exciting, entertaining, passionate, warm and incomprehensibly in love with Bella. It has been difficult to me to finish the last book, for the lack of interest that was growing in me for the relation between Edward and Bella. Mentally I was more next to Jacob.
Undoubtedly I would remain with warm Jacob

The way Bella never wins an argument is probably 75% of the reason I don't like Edward. He's so controlling. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Edward. I think it would be awesome if the whole series was written from his perspective. (I'm about ready to kill who ever caused Stephenie Meyer to stop writing Midnight Sun. She didn't even get to the meadow scene!! *pout*) But I'm not on team Jacob either. I don't think Bella's good enough for Jacob. After what she's put him through, she doesn't deserve him. Though I think it's adorable that he imprinted on Renesmee.

I SO agree with you! I've been on team Jacob ever since the second book. He was the light that took her out of the darkness that is Eduard! I mean, come on! I would SO go with the werewolf. He reminds me of a guy who would party and drink and stuff, while Eduard sits there drinking tea and eating crumpets.

I agree with you 100%! To me, Bella seems so pathetically needy when she's around Edward, and like you mentioned, she always feels stupid. It annoys me how much she needs Edward.
I just loved the BellaxJacob storyline because for me, it was so much more entertaining. It wasn't all about how Bella can't breathe and she's so mesmerized by Edward's hotness (sounds more like lust than love to me ..), it was about how Jacob could make her laugh and actually enjoy life, despite how depressed she was. I'd take a guy like that any day ..
& yes, I have read the books and I know how it turns out. I guess I'm just irritated that the best friend never seems to win in these situations in books, even though he's clearly more deserving. >_>

aww, its posted august. ah God! I hate how your break it down but this list is totally off now since breaking dawn proves that Bella is for Edward and nothing more. I would have loved to break my own top 10 reason why Edward is much better than Jacob. Im a totally team Edward, not merely because his perfect but because he love Bella more than anything else.

I would definitely choose Jacob over Edward. Bella and Edward are almost sickeningly infatuated with each other, I think they're just right for each other. And I never liked Bella's character much. I think Jacob deserves better than her.

Though I dislike Bella in almost every way possible I have to admit that being with Jacob really makes her a lot more tolerable. I have little against Edward, apart from the fact he's a really bland character who possesses very little personality. Not to mention he is too 'perfect' for me to be able to relate to. Seriously, who 'sparkles' in the sunlight...Give me Dracula any day.

Jacob's not perfect, FAR from it too...The difference is he's just more 'real'. I was really disappointed with how Stephenie decided to end the book. Yeah, I knew Edward and Bella would end up together by the time I had read 50 pages of Twilight but making Jacob imprint on her daughter... I think she really ran out of alternatives, even Leah Clearwater would have been better.

So . . . is anyone else laughing about the difference in grammer skills between the posts of Jacob and Edward fans? I'm just saying, it doesn't bode well for one of the teams.

Meh, well i've read all the comments so far...very interesting . At first, I hated Jacob but when I read Eclipse I started to fall for him. I know, it sounds corny but its true :P At first, i absolutely LOVED edward, but I just HAVE to say that he's maybe...too perfect...? I dunno, just my opinion. Its just that i wouldn't really give up my life for a boy. Again, just my opinion. No flamers please :) And perfect gets boring after awhile. I mean, Edward is also VERY protective of Bella, which I find maybe annoying, one a bit though. And like i said, he's PERFECT. I mean, Jacob makes mistakes, thats human, right? I guess i like humans more than mythical creatures. But I still love the Edward and Bella pairing and if Bella DID choose Jacob I don't even know what would happen then. Edward is great in many ways, too. He LOVES Bella, very much. Protective, etc. I think they're both great. But sorry Edward fans, I guess I choose Team Jacob.

Anyways my opinion,
Well at first I thought the Edward and Bella couple was adorable but as i read on and on about them, it got boring. I mean "Mr. Sparkles" is all perfect and such. Which very much annoys me. He's controlling, like one of the commenters here said. Bella is very dependant on Edward. More like addicted actually. She was helpless as EVER, I thought that she was too dependant on Edward. She thought he was a freakin' drug for heaven's sake. She looked stupid kinda that she needed Edward so much. As for Jacob, he's my favorite. I mean, when Edward left Bella in the woods for her own good, Bella was depressed as hell. I didn't really want to read on and on about how she was depressed without Mr. Sparkles yada yada. But I was encouraged when Jacob came into the book. He seems like a fun guy to hang out with, he DOES actually know how to have fun, unlike Edward who just loves Bella so much that they don't even have any fun at all. I thought Jacob was wonderful, and totally in love with Bella, which I found interesting. But she broke him once Edward came back. I found that ANNOYING. I hated her for that actually. I don't think she even deserves to be with Jacob anymore after what she did to him. I'm glad though that he gets to be with someone that can actually be with him, her DAUGHTER. I find that kinda sick though, but adorable at the same time. I know weird :P

All of my friends and I have read these books and i am the only one who LOVES Jacob.Sure Edward is hot and all, but if he really loved Bella like he said, he never would have left her; sure he came back, but he still left, and Jacob was the one that helped her put her life back together.Bella should have thanked Jacob more, not kept hurting him...I honestly thought i was the the only one who liked Jacob.
